Scott Larson
Home to many local businesses, Pleasanton has diversity rooted in its very core. One bar that contributes to this diversity is Cellar Door. Owned by Scott Larson, it had already been in Pleasanton for a while, but it was Scott who made it into the booming yet cozy wine bar it is known as today.
Every detail adds individuality to this bar: from the workers to the design, it is simply unmatched. Now, Scott decided to take over the ownership because he wanted a change of scenery from his other store, the Neighborhood Sports Bar, and a change it was. Whereas the Neighborhood Sports Bar is a place to watch sports and chat with the community, Cellar Door is a comfortable and snug spot where the community still plays an important part.
Prior to any bar, Scott Larson has worked in the industry for 20 years, gaining experience that he brings to every corner of his bars. In the bustling city of San Francisco, he ended up managing three nightclubs. Throughout the years, he has worked under numerous different owners, each providing a unique contribution to the experience Scott has. Now, he is giving back to his community by managing Cellar Door to provide something new for the people of Pleasanton—truly an amalgamation of innovation. The ideas and novelties that Cellar Door showcases are also derived from other cities that Scott has visited; they come together in the heart of Pleasanton to provide a scene like no other.
Cellar Door’s atmosphere pulls from not just Scott’s experiences, but also from the contribution of its various workers. Loved by the community, they give their best to make the bar an enjoyable place for all. When a regular walks in, their drink is already done. When a guest walks in, their order is already being taken down.
The place is continuously expanding. Despite the challenge of keeping the place unique and fresh—something that Scott does brilliantly—he is constantly thinking of new ideas to implement for this boozy, quieter, date spot. While still in the works, he plans to open the patio with lights and lively bands. It’s about entertainment: the image of Cellar Door is entertainment; the atmosphere is entertaining; it provides an individual style of entertainment for the people of Pleasanton. They are always open to new ideas to keep the place dynamic and flowing. After all, it’s the people of Pleasanton that they provide for.
Decorated with lights inside and outside of the bar, it provides a comfortable and warm scene for whoever visits. Surrounded by softer and darker colors, the bar is decorated with tables and a counter to socialize—or to stay in your own zone.
With constant everyday events, like Karaoke, Jazz Nights, DJs, and Reggae, you can always expect warm and lively entertainment when you step through the doors of Cellar Door. It is a place that can cater towards anyone and everyone. After 3 years, Scott’s hard work has started kicking off, bringing in entertainment and enjoyment like no other in Pleasanton.
